Imprint of Exploitation, Irene Ho

The artwork's linoleum print depicts the tragic deception of Taiwanese indigenous people who were deceived to exchange their valuable land for lesser value land due to language barriers and oppression. Their agreement, sealed with fingerprints on contracts, is captured. The tree stump symbolizes not only the loss of their land to industrialization but also the erosion of cherished memories and cultures hidden in its rings.
