OCCUPY., Katherine Chong

To exist in the margins of society is an inexplicable experience. You are simultaneously neglected as you are scrutinized. There is never a place that you belong to by birthright; you strive to carve out any sliver of space to subsist. So, you breathe gingerly between the forgettable width of a boundary, as if the whisper of your breath would elicit a tirade.
You! Yes, you. I implore you to OCCUPY.
I ask you to do away with cautious obedience and passive surrender. I urge you to extend beyond the borders of the page and towards unthinkable reality. Because you and I are not just tame ortwo-dimensional clichés. We are living and breathing forces reaching into this world, staking our claims.
